Welcome to the October Save Time Online Newsletter!

October. They're already had Thanksgiving in the USA, the football seasons are over, the weather is warming up across Australia (well mostly!), the spring racing carnival is heating up (although in limited form in some parts) and the kids are in the final term of school. Yes, summer and Christmas are on their way so we've included some articles and links for you to help prepare.

One thing to remember if you are gift shopping online is to ask how the store can help you. They may be able to give wrap the gifts (some charge a nominal fee and others offer this for free), mail the gifts directly to the recipient or may store the gifts for you until mid to late December. Just because it isn't listed on their site, doesn't mean you can't ask for any assistance you would find helpful.

And if you're still thinking it is too soon to buy Christmas gifts, remember than it is cheaper to mail things via surface mail but there are early deadlines - it is already too late to use sea mail for gifts to much of the American continent, UK and Europe, and USA sea mail closes on 13 October. One solution to meeting international mailing deadlines is to order online at somewhere local to where you want a gift delivered - you save on postage costs and time and know that your gift will work in that country. Note that if you are ordering for a local delivery, you will pay local taxes despite being Australian.
