Welcome to the May Save Time Online Newsletter!May Madness

It's May and that means we've gone mad again! Ok, some may say we're always mad, but during May we join with other business owners and offer some mad prices and bonuses to anyone and everyone. Which special offers will you take advantage of?

May also means winter is just about here, which is a great time to be online instead of running around shops, battling car parks and feeling the cold. As always, we have some winter tips in our seasonal section and we'll be adding more tips and discussion to our blog as winter sets in.

This month's time saving tip is 'just do it!' Thinking about something takes energy and time, putting it off also takes energy - once something worthwhile is done, it's done and no longer soaks up your time or energy and hopefully it can sa.ve you time itself, too.

Watch out for some changes to the Save Time Online site in coming months, too - we're working hard in the background at the moment and are planning some new features and listings for you. If you have any ideas or requests, now's the time to give us your feedback, too.

Save yourself some spam

Spam actually refers to unsolicited commercial emails - so ads that come to you via email without you having a (direct or indirect) relationship with the advertiser. In general use, it also applies to those emails that include a virus or spyware or try to trick information/money out of you (commonly referred to as phishing.)

It is a huge time waster when you're online, even with spam filters that stop the majority of it reaching our inboxes. So you can really save yourself some time by reducing the chances of being spammed.

The key is to keep your email address away from spammers - they can't email you if they don't know your address!

Book review

The Persimmon Tree by Bryce Courtney
Penguin Books, 2005, Australia

It is 1942 in the Dutch East Indies, and Nick Duncan is a young Australian butterfly collector in search of a single exotic butterfly. With invading Japanese forces coming closer by the day, Nick falls in love with the beguiling Anna van Heerden.

Their time together is brief, as both are forced into separate, dangerous escapes. They plan to reunite and marry in Australia but it is several years before their paths cross again, scarred forever by the dark events of a long, cruel war.

In The Persimmon Tree, Bryce Courtenay gives us a story of love and friendship set against the dramatic backdrop of the Pacific during the Second World War.
