Peanut Gallery is an Australian online toyshop which was set up in Victoria
in 2004 by two mums with young children. We found that as our children started
to crawl and walk, it was very difficult to go shopping for any length of time.
While we could manage to go to large, indoor shopping centres (just!), we
found these places did not offer the sort of high quality wooden, traditional
and educational toys we wanted to buy for our children. We know these toys are
around, but often you need to spend time driving to specialty outdoor strip
shopping centres which are not always convenient to bring babies and young
children to.
We also did our share of “window shopping” online but were again disappointed
with the range of toys available specifically for children under 6 years old. We
did manage to buy a couple of things but ended up ordering them from the U.S.
Our frustrations led us to develop Peanut Gallery.
Our aim is to provide a broad selection of traditional, wooden, educational
and other beautiful toys for children aged birth to 6 that will be cherished by
children and their parents alike.
At a time when children are increasingly reliant on electronic devices and
media for entertainment, we believe providing children with the right, age
appropriate toys, will foster their creativity, encourage use of their
imaginations and build confidence in their own abilities.
We have spent several months building our product range by carefully
selecting wooden, educational and traditional toys we feel offer you a real
alternative to the mainstream products you can find at your local shopping
centre. Our children have also had a great time helping us to select the toys
they really love!
